July’s 10 Favourite Bible Verses
Hi Beautiful,
These are the few scriptures that have stayed with me this month and changed my thought process and heart posture.
Here are a selection for July and a breakdown of how to connect. I pray God speaks to you today.
1 Colossians 3:2
“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God”
My approach to life changed with this scripture, the focus changed. I needed to focus on abundance because God wants nothing less for me.
Learning to be grateful, see the positives and seek things on a higher level.
2 Jeremiah 33:3
“‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’”
I do get drawn to this scripture quite a bit. I’ve learned to pray scripture over myself and my situation. (Replace you with your name or ‘me’ ) Life began to change, I was putting my faith in His word.
We do not know everything. When we are obedient, there is a shift and God will surely bless you with mighty things you didn’t know.
He wants you to do well, to succeed and to honour Him in all you do.
When I’m stuck, I merely pray through this scripture.
3 Romans 12:12
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
“Be joyful in hope,”
Whilst you are in your waiting process, continue to serve and seek joy in things by being thankful. Remain happy and uplifted with a heart full of hope that things will change. Pursue God
“patient in affliction,”
Things aren't always going to be smooth or go your way. But in this, we must wait on the Lord and still honour Him when it gets tough.
And lastly, “faithful in prayer”
Be in consistent prayer and conversation with God. Your journey can change when you allow God to move. Never stop praying, keep believing in the shift.
4 Ecclesiastes 11:4
“Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.”
A reminder to not let time go without doing what is needed.
Procrastination is prideful, boastful and sinful. Tomorrow is not promised. Start focusing on the need and the positives, instead of what isn't concerning to your duties.
We all have excuses as to why we can’t do things, but is it really worth it? Would you want 10 years to go by and you are still in the same place with the same complaints?
Exactly.
5 Jude 1:16-18
“These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.”
When I came upon this scripture - a warning by the way - I realised that God will judge you and anything ungodly, one being complaining. (I know it’s a bad habit)
How can you stop complaining and grumbling?
- Take the time to be more grateful each day
- Keep that peaceful harmony and pray in preparation for the battle.
- Be more focused on your task
- Be grateful
- Approach it differently
- Ask for help
6 Psalm 51:1
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.”
We mean so much to God that even when we do wrong, he carefully deals with our matter and forgives us. “Blot out my transgressions” The word “blot” stood out to me because it shows His quality, we are precious to God and He is careful with us.
Knowing that and the scripture then says to cleanse me. What do I need to forgive myself? What do I need to leave with God and go forward knowing I’m carefully covered by unfailing love?
7 Psalm 8:5
"You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor."
I read this and it blew my mind that God created us in this way and then I had to ask myself why I doubt or question myself when God thinks so highly of me. This comparison has also been mentioned three times. (Hebrews 2:7, Hebrews)
8 Ephesians 2:10
"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Workmanship, the Greek word is pioiēma = poem
Poem; a work of art or masterpiece
You are 'that which has been made' as a work of God's love. I am made with purpose. I will impact the world for good through fulfilling God’s destiny and purpose for my life, in all the places and ways You have positioned me to do so.
This scripture gives me that push and confidence to keep going, we were prepared in advance, and we have always been in His mind and creation. We can use that to fulfil our purpose because what He set out for us will work as long as we stay close to Him.
John 15:6
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."
When I was feeling discouraged, I turned to God about your calling. I came across this scripture which reminds me that everything is in God’s control. You can’t reach your destination without God.
God said: “You did not choose me but I chose you and appointed you so that you may go...”
Your purpose is in time for the destination. Questioning every part of the journey even though you know where to start only prolongs your destiny. You’ve got the talent and the ideas, the notes and the videos and so on.
Start already - God will form the rest
10 Deuteronomy 23:5
"However, the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam but turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you."
God loves you!
He can turn any situation around and for your good. You have to believe and pray.
I pray you are blessed and that you have a new understanding of these scriptures.
Feel free to share it with someone who might need it.
