4 Lessons Learned Since Becoming a Better Me
Hi Beautiful,
I’ve been working on myself for the last few years (an ongoing process btw) I’ve enjoyed the aspects of learning who I am, transitioning out of bad habits and slowly seeing who I’ve envisioned to be. With the grace of God.
Four lessons:
It’s not an overnight turnaround
As much as I wanted to change, I quickly learned that the work would take a while; there's a lot to rewire.
It takes dedication and intention every day. Relaxing and thinking that I had time was also a rookie move. The main thing is knowing what you want, how you want to change and visualise your higher self. See yourself in abundance and with prayer, faith and a change of lifestyle you slowly start to see the changes. Having a true deep intention to become better is not just physical but emotional and spiritual.
It's about working on the mindset change.
Save money for the physical changes because it is a consistent component
In becoming a better you, you accumulate new habits and wants.
There are outfits, fitness, hobbies, self-care, new makeup and so on according to your intentional plan. I learned soon that while I was working on my mindset, I needed to create sinking funds within my budget to consistently maintain the new me.
Financial maturity is very important as part of your journey.
A good practice to have is sinking funds;
Placing certain amounts of month each into savings pots or envelopes, to help with recurring costs.
Journal and pray honestly
How can you reflect and learn if you’re in denial.
It can be challenging to lay it all bare and really see your current life for what it is, but it's needed to grow and change. When I pray I let God know everything, good and bad because I'm trusting Him and relying on Him for the direction. When I journal, I let it flow and reading back allows me to stem from some points and elaborate my thoughts and feelings.
Find deeper meanings to why my choices have led me to my current point.
Check the habits that are holding you back
Journal can be useful here.
Know that everything you do and have now is down to the habits and choices you made 6 months/1 year ago. In order to start the ball rolling to change, you need to swap the habits that aren't helping for new ones. It takes time to get the hang of it, so creating a set of habits for a duration until it's second nature might work out better.
It's that intention to change that drives me.
The journey has been blessed and I’m looking forward to learning more and becoming who God wants me to be. I pray your journey is fruitful.
